Form Factor
3.5” single board computers are based on a form factor originally specified by Intel known as Embedded Compact Extended (ECX). The footprint of DSL’s 3.5” boards are 102 x 144mm resulting in a compact SBC, perfect for embedded industrial environments.
Processors
DSL’s 3.5” board offerings include multiple processors consisting of the Vortex DX2, Vortex DX3 and Intel x5-E8000. The Vortex offerings allow for legacy support of applications running on operating systems such as MS-DOS, WES 2009, and WES 7. For customers wanting to modernise their systems and applications, an alternative Intel offering is available and would be an ideal solution enabling the use of Windows 10 OS, whilst still using an ISA bus.
